Lets see what happens and hope for the best, I have the community of modellers at my fingertips which didn’t exist 100 years ago, maybe in 100 years we can hope to achieve what some call science fiction.

While I have been just laying about for the last month I have actually been learning, this may have helped but I don’t really have much to show for that part. Results from tutorials are just a that a result, I don’t see myself as being responsible for that result just actually having the result. So after some time I decided to stop getting these helpers and actually put what I learnt to good use. I have spent that time working on a model to sell and I believe it turned out ok. Take a look first and tell me what you think.

Once I got to this point I saw the model being completed but I had to complement it with a small scene to show it off in a better environment, landscape scenes are not my greatest strength and I had to find some specific tutorials for the grass, but I just downloaded a royalty free tree model.

In the end I came to the conclusion that I haven’t given the scene right lighting because the building is just too dark, the ground texture could use some work along with the grass and more specifically I need to work on UV editing to allow my textures a greater refinement. It was just today that I saw somebody outlining their texture for a similar model where they had the diffuse map,  normal map, ambient occlusion map and on some parts of the model they included a grunge map for dirt or moss, each of these multiplied the reason by which you would judge the quality of a model, so now I know I just have to do better if I want to get better at what I do.

Getting close to finishing this model I was browsing the blenderartists.org forum and I took a look at the weekend challenge contest and I liked the theme of “Dream Architecture” so I spent the next 4 or 5 hours just trying to push this thing out before the deadline. What I managed to get didn’t turn out like anything I had imagined, but it was suitable and I gave it my best shot. So now I have one vote, but I am not last so phew to that. I don’t expect to get many more votes but I do think that I should get more than some others that are already taking the lead.

So to stop boring you with the details I present to you something I managed to whip up in a short amount of time.

But anyhow, I have done a tutorial and just used that for the result, although I did change it still looks very similar, which is unfortunate. So here it is if you wanna see more later than subscribe or something, ok.

In other news, I gave Blender’s new Cycles renderer a go only to find out that my drivers don’t support the rendering method for GPU rendering, so I will have to wait until I can either upgrade or the Blender system is tweaked to let me in.

Well this time I have uploaded some photos that I took with my digital camera and then did some funky editing in Photoshop. Now I know they aren’t the best or anywhere near it, but they got me a pass.

I won’t be showcasing this title sequence because 1 – it sucks and 2 – it really sucks. I won’t show you them all but I will link all of them from my deviant art page.

I am 22 years old and just a couple of months off 23, which scares me. So many people younger than me are out there and doing what I want to do and I just keep feeling like a lazy loser, but cheer up and do what I want. I am doing a Certificate IV in IT (Multimedia), it is going ok but when they give you heaps of time off between semesters and then try to cram it all down your throat it can become a bit frustrating.

Well for this year there is a major project that has to be done in groups, it is due in about 2 months and all I have is the script and the storyboard. Next weeks team meeting better be productive and eventful.I have been doing some last-minute cramming today with my storyboard assignment due tomorrow but seeing as I got 100% on my script, I won’t be worried, much.Today I want to get started off by sharing the work I have done on the script and then tell you a little about my 2D assignment

So the script was a small idea in my head that failed to escape to the paper for a while, I couldn’t focus and do my work when I was cramped into a small desk next to my younger brother. All that has changed now, there are no more excuses except being lazy, I have a new desk in my large room which I still do share. I took one day of studying to go to the TAFE and work with some other class mates, I was there from 8:30 till 16:30 where I spent most of the morning helping the others. I was relieved when I had finally completed the script along with other assignment requirements like outlining the story and characters.

Here is the script in all it’s glory, although very strange in all that glory.

APOCA is lying on his bed staring at the roof pondering something. He rolls over to look at the time on his bedside clock.

APOCA

(Surprised)

Oh no, I’m late!

Apoca jumps from the bed, grabs his phone and wallet. He moves on to the bathroom to fix his hair and brush his teeth. After he is finished he checks the recordings on his answering machine.

VOICE

Hello Apoca, you’re late. I suggest you here down

here right away, you are needed.

Apoca grabs his keys and rushes through the door.

APOCA is racing down the street in a big hurry to get somewhere. He crashes into the NEPTUNE personality of MR GEE.

APOCA

(Rushed)

Sorry Neptune.

As Apoca races off we see Neptune trying to say something but it is too late.

We see APOCA racing down the street. This time he collides into the SATURN personality.

APOCA

(Rushed)

Sorry Saturn.

As Apoca races off we see Saturn trying to say something but it is too late.

We see APOCA racing down the street. This time he collides into the JUPITER personality.

APOCA

(Rushed)

Sorry Jupiter.

As Apoca races off we see Jupiter trying to say something but it is too late.

We see APOCA racing down the street. This time he collides into the MARS personality.

APOCA

(Rushed)

Sorry Mars.

As Apoca races off we see Mars trying to say something but it is too late.

We see APOCA slowing as he nears the EARTH personality. MR GEE gracefully slides his hand to the shoulder of Apoca while standing behind him.

MR GEE

I am sorry child but you seem

to have slept through it.

Mr Gee steps around Apoca to talk to him face to face.

MR GEE

(Cont.)

I am disappointed, you managed

to sleep through the most important

event in this timeline

Apoca slides Mr Gees hand off of his shoulder, trying to avoid eye contact

APOCA

(Sad)

I am sorry father all

this time has confused me

and made me weak, I will make

it up to you, whatever it takes.

Mr Gee turns away and begins to walk off.

APOCA

(Almost crying)

Father, please, is there

nothing I can do?

Mr Gee turns back towards Apoca and places both hands upon Apoca’s shoulders.

MR GEE

My son, I forgive you, but

to fix this you would need

to give up that most dear to

you, forever.

Apoca turns away in fear that he might lose everything he has made for himself.

APOCA

(Calmly)I understand father, but

I am scared. (Upset)You cannot

let anything happen to me, please!

MR GEE

It is ok son, it is

ok to be scared, but

yes all will be well. You

will get your second chance.

We see APOCA walking up to MR GEE with a sad look upon his face

APOCA

Father I am ready

MR GEE

Yes I believe you are

Mr Gee raises his hand

Time rewind back to early morning

We see APOCA walking out the door of his house with keys in hand

APOCA is walking down the street. He walks past NEPTUNE.

APOCA

Hello Neptune.

NEPTUNE

Oh, hello Apoca, big day today.

APOCA

Yes, a very big day

As Apoca continues along the street he passes by SATURN, JUPITER and MARS waving at each in turn (In fast forward).

We see APOCA nearing the EARTH personality. MR GEE gracefully slides his hand to the shoulder of Apoca while standing behind him.

MR GEE

It is time, my son

APOCA

Goodbye father.

Apoca walks up to Earth and kneels down. Earth smiles and places his hand upon Apoca’s head.

A bright white flash spreads across the screen originating from Earths hand.

APOCA is seen hanging out with his new friends.

FRIEND

Hey Apoca, are you coming?

APOCA

(Brief Pause)

Yeah, sure.
